Charcos is the type that rewards you for not looking for symmetry. A single notch sits on one blade above the shoulder, leaving the two sides deliberately unequal — one margin straighter, the other more convex, and often one shoulder more strongly barbed. Associated with northern Mexico, especially Coahuila, and the Texas borderlands.
